The 15th National Games concluded successfully, with Kai Tak Sports Park serving as the main venue for the Hong Kong zone and hosting a series of remarkable sporting events. Baguio was honored to take part by providing integrated environmental services for the Park. The scope of services covered waste management and horticultural works, ensuring a clean and pleasant venue environment throughout the Games while demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability.

During the Games, Baguio’s team managed all waste management, including waste collection and sorting, as well as operating the Large Scale Waste Decomposition System within the Park. Over 100 recycling bins were set up to collect various recyclables such as food waste, paper, plastics, and metals. Recyclable materials were then properly sorted and transferred to designated recycling facilities, optimizing resource recovery efficiency. In addition, Baguio deployed on-site “Recycling Ambassadors” to promote environmental awareness and encourage green practices among visitors.

Baguio’s horticultural team also contributed to the landscape building around the outer areas of the Stadium, including the supply, planting, and maintenance of diverse plant species, bringing natural greenery to the venue and reinforcing its image as a model for sustainable sports development.
