Baguio's long-standing commitment to sustainability has recently earned industry recognition. The company secured the "Environmental Industry - Bronze Award" at the "2024 Hong Kong Environmental Excellence Awards", organized by the Environmental Campaign Committee (ECC) and co-hosted by the Environment and Ecology Bureau alongside multiple business association and chambers. The award ceremony took place on January 16, 2026, at the Data Technology Centre in Tseung Kwan O InnoPark, officiated by Secretary for Environment and Ecology Mr. Tse Chin-wan and ECC Chairperson Ms. Kwok Mei-hang.

Covering 16 sectors, the awards evaluated entries based on three key criteria—"Green Leadership," "Programme and Performance," and "Partner Synergy"—through two rounds of technical assessment and final judging by a panel comprising ECC members and chamber representatives. Out of 3,999 participating organizations, 54 gold, silver, and bronze winners and 183 merit awards were selected, reflecting Baguio's strong performance across all criteria among thousands of participants.​

Green Leadership

• Baguio maintains a Sustainability Steering Committee chaired by the CEO, including Independent Non-Executive Directors and cross-departmental representatives, reporting directly to the Board.
• In 2024, the Group's carbon emission intensity and energy consumption intensity decreased 43% from 2016 baseline, and total energy consumption reduced by 5%.
• The Group is ISO 14001 certified and recognized with TVB ESG Awards - Outstanding Award, Sustainable Procurement Award, and multiple environmental recognition, reinforcing green industry leadership.

Programmes and Performance

• The Green Fleet utilizes GPS real-time monitoring to optimize route efficiency. We are also trialing B5 biodiesel, increasing our fleet of electric private cars, targeting full electrification of our private car fleet by 2026.
• Innovation in services and operations: employ smart rodent trapper and BugDefence natural mosquito repellent for non-toxic pest control. Baguio has also adopted 10-20-30 rule of plant diversity for new/replacement plantings. In addition, drones and smartwatches assist tree surveys and worker safety by reducing the need for high-risk site access.
• Smart recycling: features Smart Waste Management Systems and big data platforms covering all 18 HK districts. These recovered 1,203 tonnes of recyclables in 2024 with 24/7 real-time management.
• Facility innovations: include NIR sorting, solar power, wastewater treatment and recycling. Baguio processes wood waste through pyrolysis process, transforming into bio-products such as biochar and wood vinegar. Activated sludge filtration treats wastewater. Activated carbon filters In-vessel systems provide odor control.
• Green products & waste reduction: includes Green sandbags (made with rPET outer layers, rPVB interlayer and glass sand filler) and biochar. Office initiatives include "No Paper Day," zero-waste markets, SDGs recycling day (293.2kg in 5 hours), enhancing employee waste reduction awareness.

Partner Synergy

• Baguio's internal "Personal ESG Scheme" points-reward system encourages employees in ESG activities. ESG workshops, courses, recycling events deepen sustainability awareness.
• Green procurement: Green procurement policy establishes green product lists (pest control, cleaning supplies), with short-term expansion and long-term 100% green purchasing target.
• Public education: includes sustainability workshops, recycling facility tours, exhibitions, ESG seminars. These have over 5,000 beneficiaries. Baguio continuously works closely with the community to drive environmental and circular economy awareness.
